The bilingual volume of studies is the result of a scientific conference organised by the Institute of National Remembrance and the Institute of Germanic Philology of the University of Wrocław, entitled Propaganda in the Polish People’s Republic and the GDR - topics, institutions, campaigns. The conference took place in Wrocław in autumn 2015.
Propaganda is, by its very nature, an issue that requires interdisciplinary research, as it uses all media and all channels of influence on the recipient. Therefore, the publication presented to the reader contains considerations on various topics, ranging from historical perspectives, through cultural studies, to linguistics and political science. The authors undertook to describe the issue of propaganda in accordance with their research interests, so each of the articles is an interesting story, and together they form a particularly interesting retrospective. The publication was published as part of the Wrocław publishing series “Other Sides of History”.
