Book description:
The reader is presented with the memoirs of an artillery officer of the Polish Armed Forces in the West, Stanisław Mączyński, who joined the ranks of the formation after escaping from a camp for interned Polish soldiers in Hungary, following the so-called Balkan route. He served in the Carpathian Rifle Brigade, and later in the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division, part of the 2nd Polish Corps. He therefore witnessed and participated in the events that took place in the Mediterranean theatre of warfare, in North Africa, in the Middle and Near East and in Italy.
