Book description:
The album pays tribute to the most vulnerable victims of the Second World War in Poland: children. Among the approximately 6 million Polish citizens who perished between 1939 and 1945, a third were children. They were subjected to the same repressive measures as their parents by both totalitarian Soviet and Nazi regimes. They lost their lives during forced resettlements, deportations, "pacification" and counterinsurgency actions, and in concentration and extermination camps. They endured severest conditions whilst working in both the Soviet Union and Third Reich. The were also often deprived of homeland as exiles after hostilities ended.
