The fourth volume of the publication The Lexicon of the Security Service. The Management Staff of the Security Apparatus 1944–1956 contains fifty biographical articles on the officers of the RBP (Department of Public Security), MBP (Ministry of Public Security), KdsBP (Committee on Public Security) and MSW (Ministry of the Interior) headquarters who held leadership positions between 1944 and 1956. The published biographies have been compiled on the basis of an extensive archive search and the available literature on the subject. In this way, in addition to detailed information on the course of service of these individuals, the reader is able to trace their fate also outside the security apparatus. This provides an opportunity to learn about often surprising biographies, but also to take a broader look at the previously unknown behind-the-scenes operations of the Security Office.
