Book description:
Published as part of the IPN Central Research Project: “Refugees, independence emigration 1939–1990”.
Using the example of the Polish Community of London-South, the author presents the daily life of the local independence emigration community in its home dimension - from Friday evening to Monday morning. Saturday schools, scouting, social life, parishes and sports clubs make up a mosaic picture of a model of social life that was a “parallel world” to the national reality.
