Władysław Drelicharz (1913–1944) ] is the title of the biography of Major Władysław Drelicharz, officer of the Polish Army, the Polish Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade, the Polish Armed Forces in the East, and finally an outstanding commander in the armored units of the Polish II Corps. The book describes in detail the actions of Drelicharz and his tank squadron during the Italian Campaign of 1944: in the Battle of Monte Cassino, in battles on the Adriatic shore and in the Emilian Apennines - where he fell. The wartime life of Major Drelicharz provides us with an opportunity to describe the quests along which Polish soldiers journeyed on their road to a yearned for but lost homeland.
