Book description:
Lexicon comprises articles and entries concerning Soviet NKVD and NKGB filtration and transit camps, prisons, POW camps and other detention places in Poland in 1944-1945 (and also prisons, camps and other detention facilities under Polish administration used by Soviet authorities). The Lexicon entries are added with historical and recent photographs, plans and maps, as well as bibliographical references. Lexicon is a pioneering research study, showing the scale of the Soviet repressions in Poland, the process of mass arrests and deportations of soldiers of the Polish independence underground, and the fate of thousands of Poles in the post-war reality, as well as depicts the process of Sovietisation of Polish state.
